maXX your network efficiency
Large and small
enterprises shift their communication
format from legacy or client server
protocols to HTTP/HTTPS web-enabling
applications. TCP/IP is the most widely
used protocol for wide area networks
(WAN), which provide superior
performance on reliable, low delay links
and terrestrial links.
Satellite networks
play a major role for carrying TCP/IP
packages in un-served and under-served
areas. However, satellite
characteristics such as latency have
adverse effects on the Transmission
Control Protocol (TCP) mechanism. TCP
acceleration technology (TCPA) is an
effective solution to overcome
throughput problems and helps achieve
significantly improved TCP/IP
performance over satellite standard
TCP—without modification of end
applications.
Since its inception,
the IPSTAR terminal was designed to
prevail over throughput issues with
built-in TCP-A function. Nevertheless,
for WiMAX backhaul, GSM Trunking, or MDU/MTU
link applications, the terminal’s
built-in software may not be sufficient.
maXX in conjunction with IPSTAR
terminals is a seamless TCP-A solution
to further increase IPSTAR network
capacity and reliability.
maXX your link
capacity
In order to
facilitate higher numbers of TCP
accelerated connections on the IPSTAR
link for large enterprise networks or in
hybrid broadband environments such
IPSTAR-WIMAX and IPSTAR-DSL, IPSTAR’s
built-in TCP-A function is disabled on
the terminal and replaced with maXX
TCP-A at the customer’s head office and
remote site. This helps increase link
capacity to support thousands of
simultaneous TCP connections. IPSTAR
maXX is also configurable as a load
balancing or failover solution in order
to level up network reliability.
